Dan was out at Chester chasing qualification for the 2027 World Championships in Hamburg next September. Dan has made some changes this season, with a change in coaching teams and as a result of that a focus on improving his running technique.

Even although this was a qualification race, Dan’s plan was to complete it under control as on the Thursday after this event he was off to Tarragona to compete on consecutive days at the European Championships Sprint & Standard distance triathlons.

A controlled swim gave Dan a good start to the event, he continued to nail down his processes by having a positive bike leg before starting the run conservatively  and building the pace through.

2nd place in his Age Group means that he has confirmed his qualification for the 2027 Standard Distance World Championships.
