Another pinch me moment…
I am privileged to be support some outstanding coaches as part of Team Scotland’s Achieve Programme and you know that I am always humbled to be part of a coaches journey, so I never take for granted the opportunities that sport affords me.
So it was fantastic to be given the opportunity to work with Denise Murphy from Triathlon Ireland and head to Finland as part of World Triathlon’s Coach Development programme to deliver a Level 1 course to 17 coaches. This was the third year that Triathlon Finland had hosted World Triathlon and Denise had delivered there on the previous courses.
We were hosted at the Paralympic Training Centre in Pajulahti.

17 coaches from 6 Countries, sharing stories & experiences, how can you not enjoy that? Coaches that were starting on their pathway to having been part of the coaching team at the 2026 Olympic Games. Coaches that predominately worked online, some with a focus on children & youth and some looking to grow female participation.

Kaisa, the Executive Manager at Finnish Triathlon informed the group that it was the first time in three years that all applicants had been able to attend the course, so it was great to see all the nominated coaches being supported by their respective Federations.
Great few days with the coaches and my time in Finland was made extra special as Kaisa gave Denise & myself a tour of Helsinki before we flew home.
As I said another pinch me moment…
