![]() Synergie Coaching consists of two qualified and insured coaches, Di Newnham & Scott Murray. Scott & Di have over 30 years experience in triathlon both as competitors, event organisers, coaches, team managers and race commentators. Di currently is a Level 2 British Triathlon Club Coach and has also held Amateur Swimming Association Coach and a UK Athletics Level 1 Assistant Coach awards. As a coach Di has worked at European Triathlon Union (ETU) prestige camps and has organised female & novice coaching seminars and events. Di has completed a BA (Hons) in Professional Training and Development with a specialisation in Goal Setting & Motivation. Di also has a Diploma in Sports Psychology and holds a Certificate in Education. Di works as a coach educator and assessor for the British Triathlon Federation and is an International Triathlon Union (ITU) Level 2 Technical Official working at such events as the Elite World Championship Series. Scott has been involved in triathlon since 1993 and was a co-author of the original British Triathlon Child Protection guidelines. He has previously worked for the British Triathlon Federation as a coach educator, assessor & mentor. Scott is a Level 3 British Triathlon Senior Coach and has been involved in British Triathlon World Class Start & Potential talent identification programmes. He is a Level 3 Association of British Cycle Coach, a Level 2 British Cycling Club Coach and a UK Athletics Level 1 Assistant Coach. He holds a Diploma in Sports Psychology and a Certificate in Sports Nutrition. As part of his continued professional development Scott is currently studying for a BSc in Sports & Exercise Science, with an expertise in VO2 max testing and blood lactate analysis. Scott is a member of the British Association of Sports and Exercise Sciences (BASES) and the UK Strength and Conditioning Association.(UKSCA). Scott has been working with the athletes on the British Triathlon Paratriathlete development squad and recently has been the Great Britain Team Manager for athletes competing at the World Duathlon Championships and the European Triathlon Championships. Scott also works with other national governing bodies and sits on the UK Athletics Anti-Doping Policy Support Team. Both Di &
Scott have worked for British Triathlon at youth & junior triathlon camps held
throughout the UK and they were the first British Coaches to work with the
Cuban National Triathlon Squad. In 2002 they both worked at the Commonwealth
Games and as a direct result of the Commonwealth Games they were approached by
the Kenyan Triathlon Association and have assist them with aspects of Coach
Education. They have also coached and advised members of the Guyana Elite
Triathlon Team. To us coaching is all about providing a professional, personal service to try to ensure that the individual athlete can achieve their potential and realise their dreams. To us it is not about elitism or financial gain, it is about the positive promotion of all sport and for participants to enjoy themselves & have fun. |
